How late can I be to pick up my rental car before they cancel it or give my reservation to someone else?
If you booked your rental car on our website with one of the major national brand car rental companies we represent, so you can rest assured that your car will be waiting for you if you're going to be later than say an hour past your scheduled pickup time, we suggest you call that national brand's call center to verify that your car will be there waiting for you and your reservation will not be cancelled. Please be advised that you can probably be quite late but not so late like a day later. When you call, they may want to modify your reservation and give you a new rate, which may be higher or lower. Make sure they keep our corporate discount number intact on your booking or you'll lose our discount rates and also perks such as free additional drivers (where applicable, depends on company) and also the reduced underage driver surcharge (where applicable, depends on company).
The car rental companies take airline itinerary changes into consideration, especially in the Hawaii car rental market. I’ve been told by car rental company reps early or late pickups (within reason) should not be a problem.
That depends. If you were to modify your current reservation times, it may be more costly because modified reservations are based on whatever the current rates are at that moment in time. However, if rates have gone down, it would definitely be more economical to modify or make a new reservation at the lower rate. It may be best to leave your reservation the way it is. Please note that it were a very busy, sold out, holiday season and you arrive a lot later, your reservation may be cancelled.
If you arrive quite early, you might run into a delay in getting your car in that it may not be returned, cleaned, and ready to go from a previous renter. But this would probably only happen during the busiest times of the year such as during the Christmas season.

Book Direct: If you know beforehand that you might possibly arrive a lot later, you might want to book directly with one of the brands we represent so you can enter your airline and flight number. Be sure you use our corporate discount number when doing so in order to get our discount and perks. That way, they will definitely know if your plane is late and you’ll still be coming. Then they will save your car or stay open until you arrive (within reason), but obviously not until something like 3AM. One may think if the plane was that late, the airline would put you up in a hotel. Just our guess though so don't count on it.
